Located in Tip Top Arcade on Oxford Street in Leederville, Toms café is a little casual gem for local workers seeking out a quick and healthy lunch.
Food: A large rainbow of fresh salads are made daily and available for takeaway in various sizes. Toms café also has manages to satisfy the less healthier of us with a variety of traditional hot and cold deli foods such as sausage rolls, subs and soups etc. It definitely manages to offer something no other establishment in Leederville.
Atmosphere: The first shop when entering the arcade and located opposite the newsagent you are highly likely to be served by or see Tom working. It’s not the nicest place to stop and eat but the great variety of healthy salads make up for it. With the number of working locals purchasing the majority of food, it’s not surprising to see limited tables (most of which are usually empty) as everyone grabs their lunch and runs back to their office.
Price: A variety of takeaway container sizes are available at different costs. $6 will get you a small container which you can have filled with 1 or 2 different salads. Though the smaller containers seem small they are always packed to the brim and surprisingly filling so you definitely get your moneys worth of fresh, healthy, delicious food.
Service: With its takeaway nature, service is quick and the staff are polite; plus they never stinge on the food.
Summary: All in all Toms Café is a great hidden gem for lunch on the run. The food is fresh and the variety exceptional, so much so that even salad avoiders are guaranteed to find something worth trying. It’s definitely worth giving it a go.
